When you apply for a business loan, the lender assesses your ability to repay. The easier your documents make that assessment, the smoother the process. Most delays come from missing or inconsistent paperwork.
KYC and registration
- PAN and identity and address proofs of the business and its owners
- Registration documents — certificate of incorporation, partnership deed or LLP agreement
- GST registration and Udyam registration where applicable
- Proof of business premises
Financial documents
- Bank statements for the recent period the lender asks for
- Income tax returns with computation
- Audited or provisional financial statements
- GST returns
For larger or project loans
- A project report explaining the purpose, costs and repayment plan
- CMA data with projected financials
- Quotations for machinery or equipment
- Details of existing loans and collateral, if any
Approval, amount and interest rate are always decided by the lender based on its own assessment. Good preparation helps you present your business clearly.
